The Preston-based rider led for the majority of the race, overcoming fierce competition to secure his first victory on the iconic Mountain Course.
A Race of Strategy and Skill
The three-lap, 37.7-mile (60.6km) race saw Arrowsmith seize the lead early on his 660 Aprilla, building a two-second advantage over Michael Gahan by the first checkpoint at Ballaugh. Gahan, riding an Aprilla from Limavady, briefly challenged Arrowsmith, narrowing the gap to just 0.2 seconds by Ramsey. However, Arrowsmith regained his lead by the pits, maintaining a 0.9-second advantage.
Dominance on Display
By the second lap, Arrowsmith extended his lead to 5.5 seconds, with Gahan and Jamie Williams battling for second and third. Despite a late surge from Gahan, his race ended prematurely at Kepple Gate, leaving Arrowsmith to cross the finish line 18 seconds ahead of Toby Shann, who secured second place. Williams rounded out the podium in third.
Record-Breaking Performance
Arrowsmith's fastest lap clocked in at an impressive 115.357mph, a testament to his skill and preparation. Reflecting on his victory, Arrowsmith expressed his elation, stating, "All this year has been about this race, and we've done it. I'm made up."
A Competitive Field
The race also saw strong performances from Liam Chawke, who finished fourth, and Caomhan Canny in fifth. Harley Rushton, Alex Sinclair, Eddy Wormald, Andrew Farrell, and local newcomer Grant Thompson completed the top 10, showcasing the depth of talent in this year's event.
