Brydon Carse Misses The Hundred 2025 Due to Injury: Northern Superchargers Face Early Setback

England fast bowler Brydon Carse withdraws from The Hundred 2025 due to injury, replaced by Mitchell Stanley in the Northern Superchargers squad.

England's fast bowler Brydon Carse has been ruled out of The Hundred 2025 after consulting with medical staff. Carse, who played a pivotal role in England's recent Test series against India, will be replaced by Mitchell Stanley, a 24-year-old quick from Lancashire, in the Northern Superchargers squad.

Carse, 30, has been battling a persistent foot injury that initially surfaced during England's white-ball tour of India earlier this year. The injury led to severe cuts on the second toe of his left foot, which became infected, forcing him to miss the Champions Trophy. Despite his struggles, Carse managed to take nine wickets in the Test series against India, showcasing his resilience and skill.

In a statement, Carse expressed his disappointment: "After a long series against India and following consultation with the medical staff, I am sadly not able to play for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred this year. I look forward to watching from the sidelines and representing the team again in the future."

The Northern Superchargers will begin their campaign against Welsh Fire at Headingley on Thursday at 18:30 BST. Carse's absence is a significant blow to the team, but Stanley's inclusion brings fresh energy and potential to the squad.

Carse's injury has been a recurring issue, but his performance in the third Test at Lord's last month, where he dismissed both Karun Nair and Shubman Gill, kept England's hopes alive. His determination and skill have made him a key player for England, and fans will be eager to see him return to full fitness.
