Hampshire has secured the services of Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards on a short-term deal, marking a significant addition to their squad for the 2025 season. The 24-year-old, who captains New South Wales, will join the county for the first two months of the season, spanning April and May. This move reunites Edwards with former Hampshire skipper James Vince, with whom he played for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.

I've played alongside James Vince for the last few years and have gotten to know him pretty well, so it's great to know I'll be playing under the Rose and Crown. Edwards brings a wealth of experience to Hampshire, having scored 1,751 runs and taken 68 wickets in 39 first-class matches. His dual capability as a right-handed batter and pace bowler adds depth to the team's lineup, particularly crucial for the County Championship and other domestic competitions.

Hampshire’s 2025 season kicks off with a home game against Yorkshire on April 4, following a strong performance last year where they finished as runners-up to champions Surrey. Edwards’ inclusion is expected to bolster their chances as they aim for the title.
